Cross Country Center Meets

The last of three installments of Center Meets for all four divisions in the Pacific Coast Athletic League will be held at Toro Park, the site of the finals in 10 days.
The Gabilan and Mission Divisions will make their final tune-ups this afternoon while the Cypress and Santa Lucia Division run on Thursday.
Defending Gabilan Division boys champion Alisal has won the first two Center Meets, but is being pushed by rival San Benito and newcomer Pacific Grove.
The Trojans held on for a 46-52 win over San Benito back on Oct. 3 with the Breakers finishing with 56 points in the second Center Meet.
Of course, with the league finals in 10 days, not everyone takes the final Center Meet seriously, often using the race as a training ground for preparation.
The Balers depth did make an imprint. Will Stefanou of Pacific Grove captured the last Center Meet, holding of Alisal's Peter Maciel and Jose Velazquez.
Gilroy has been the class of the girls division all season, even though it didn't have anyone in the top five at the last Center Meet.
Colleen Lang of Carmel won the second Gabilan Center Meet, a few strides in front of Faith Mora of North County and defending league champion Angela Leavitt of Notre Dame.
King City put on a show in the last Mission Division Center Meet, coasting past Greenfield, while Marina's Christopher Plascencia has dominated both Center Meet races.
The same can be said in the girls Mission Division for Salinas' Nicole Gorczyca, who dipped under 19 minutes.
Alvarez won the first girls Center Meet, with North Salinas relying on its depth to capture the second one two weeks ago.
