Friday's game
Alisal (4-3) at Watsonville (4-3), 7:30 p.m.
In terms of postseason thoughts, this will have that type of atmosphere as another loss may be one two many for both teams.
Only three teams are assured of playoff spots from the Mission Division. Right now that third spot belongs to Alisal.
Both teams pound the ball on the ground with Alisal using fullback Dorian Segovia as a centerpiece along with Israel Corona and quarterback Julian Renteria.
The Wildcatz attack starts with Matthew Barcelo, who has rushed for over 100 yards three times this fall, chalking up 194 yards two weeks ago against North Salinas.
Watsonville hasn't been much of a threat throwing the ball. Yet, you have to respect the fact that two of its three completions have gone for touchdowns.
Renteria did toss a pair of touchdown passes earlier this year against Seaside for the Trojans. But he does most of his damage with his legs.
Alisal has only played two road games this year, going 1-1. Watsonville's only home loss was to 7-0 Carmel.
