Watsonville (3-1) vs. North Salinas (3-2) at Rabobank, 7:30 p.m.
Both teams recently had three game winning streaks snapped, with the Wildcatz having had an extra week to stew over a 49-7 loss to Burlingame.
North Salinas gave up a season high 42 points in a 23-point setback to Alisal last week. It did score 19 points in the second half after being down by 21, to build some momentum into this week.
As well as the Vikings contained the run in beating Monterey two weeks ago, they did not have the same success against a much more physical Alisal unit.
Watsonville is similar to Alisal in that it's going to grind on the ground, as evident by it having two total passing yards in its first two games.
James Sandoval and Matthew Barcelo have combined for nearly 800 yards and 12 touchdowns this fall for the Wildcatz.
Matt Morales has piled up over 500 rushing yards for North Salinas. Elijah Washington has shown big play potential with touchdowns of 79 and 76 yards this year.
The Vikings big quarter this fall has been the third, where they have outscored teams 27-14, while 42 of Watsonville's 99 points have come in the first 12 minutes of the game.
