Saturday morning thoughts

Statement: Going 79 yards in two minutes to turn a four-point deficit into a momentum changing 17-14 lead at the half, changed the complexion of the game in Salinas' 24-14 win over Palma.
Rebound game: After being tagged for 82 points in consecutive losses, King City's defense answers the challenge, holding Santa Cruz to a touchdown in a 28-6 win.
Coaching wins: Alvarez coach Anthony Gonzales and Greenfield coach Adam Barsenas both pick up their first wins as head coaches.
Impression: Alisal makes it no secret it's going to pound the football. Yet, no one is stopping it as it rushed for seven touchdowns in a 42-19 win over North Salinas.
Second half heroics: Starring at a 20-point deficit, Stevenson outscores Marina 30-6 to post its first win of the season.
Numbers: Alex Valdez rushes for four touchdowns for King City. Alex Murray scores four touchdowns for Stevenson. Raul Morales tosses two scores and rushes for a touchdown for Gonzales. Dorian Segovia rushes for three touchdowns for Alisal. Ben Perez rushes for a touchdown and tosses one for Alvarez. Carl Richardson tosses a pair of touchdown passes for Salinas.
