San Lorenzo Valley-Pacific Grove football

Friday's game
San Lorenzo Valley (3-1) at Pacific Grove (2-1), 7:30 p.m.
There is some history among the two teams that goes beyond last year. Both were once upon a time MTAL rivals in the early 1970's.
With 72 points in three games, the Breakers have already surpassed last year's entire point total, as well as win total.
San Lorenzo Valley has been an offensive machine since a season opening loss to East Wooster of Reno, outscoring three teams 138-19 with a pair of shutouts.
Quarterback Stevie Markey has thrown for 483 yards and eight touchdowns, with just one pick in 40 attempts for the Cougars.
The offense for San Lorenzo Valley has been balanced with running back Taj Glasky rushing for 208 yards and seven touchdowns, and Jacob Auldridge chalking up 180 yards on the ground.
The Breakers defense has also recorded two shutouts this season, including last week's 26-0 decision over Stevenson.
Offensively, Anthony DaSilva has rushed for 230 yards and five touchdowns while Blake Moore has 105 receiving yards, and a 42-yard rushing touchdown to his resume.
It's hard to get a grasp if either team is a contender in the Cypress Division. The combined record of the teams Pacific Grove and the Cougars have beaten this year is 2-14.
