Former Palma multi-sport standout Joey Burlison was named New York University’s Rookie of the Week for his effort on the golf links.
Burlison was the teams medalist in his first collegiate tournament, compiling a two-day score of 147 to finish second overall in the event, helping New York to a team title.
A two-time state meet qualifier in golf for Palma, Burlison was named the Gabilan Division Player of the Year last season. He was also a guard on the Chieftains basketball team
