Greenfield-Stevenson football

Saturday's game
Greenfield (1-4) at Stevenson (1-3), 2 p.m.
Despite their non-league struggles, Greenfield and the Pirates are two of three teams still undefeated in the Santa Lucia Division.
Both teams are coming off their first wins of the fall, accomplished in two completely different ways last week.
The Bruins, who had mustered just 14 points in four non-league losses, erupted for 42 in knocking off Harbor.
Stevenson was starring at a 20-point deficit before using a big second half, scoring 24 points to post a 30-26 win over Marina.
Alex Murray is coming off a 248 yard, four touchdown rushing performance for Stevenson, having returned for spot duty at quarterback.
After struggling to find their ground game in the first two weeks of the season, the Pirates have had a running back rush for over 100 yards in two straight games.
Jaime Soto, who had scored Greenfield's only two touchdowns in the preseason, piled up 181 yards and rushed for two more touchdowns while Jose Uribe also rushed for over 100 yards.
As a team, the Bruins rushed for 383 yards, while quarterback Daniel Morales was 5-of-6, throwing his first touchdown pass of the season.
Lost in Greenfield's offensive eruption was its defense, which hasn't played badly all season. Given more rest, it allowed just one touchdown.
The Pirates hope to bottle up their second half defensive performance, as Ryan Douglas and Connor Adams were all over the field.
A note of interest. Stevenson juggled four different quarterbacks in its win over Marina.
