Alisal football

It's almost as if the Trojans are handing you their playbook and saying 'now stop us.'
It's never been a secret to what Alisal is going to do and that's grind the ball on the ground.
Head coach Cesar Chaidez isn't bashful about telling you what his plans are - minus the playbook of course. He wants to pound the ball behind a punishing offensive line.
Chaidez, a former offensive lineman, calls it old school football. He prefer the blue collar, lunch pale attitude versus the high wire circus acts of balls flying through the air.
 He's on to something.
Because while most teams are preparing to stop pro style attacks each week, Alisal runs a throwback offense that leaves opposing defenses in unfamiliar territory.
The 500 plus yard rushing effort in the season opener wasn't a fluke. Neither was Friday's 42 point effort in which Alisal rushed for seven touchdowns.
The Trojans are one of the few teams in the section where the fullback is a big part of the offense, as evident by Dorian Segovia having rushed for 10 touchdowns this year.
Alisal has seen three running backs rush for over 100 yards in one game. It wants to punish teams and wear them down rather than finesse them to death.
Four passes in a game is probably twice as many as Chaidez would prefer to throw. Hey, you have to work on your passing attack in game situations -- two touchdown passes in four attempts.
But if there is a playoff run or potential league title in the air this fall, it's coming on the ground for Alisal.
