Volleyball rankings

1. Santa Catalina: Reigning two-time CCS champions have started the last two years 27-0.
2. Salinas: Will be a more complete and potent team this fall if healthy.
3. San Benito: Lost four starters off of last years undefeated Gabilan Division team.
4. Carmel: Playing in the Gabilan Division this fall will make the Padres better.
5. Monte Vista: Returns one of the top hitters in the area in Cassidy Schurman.
6. Notre Dame: Concussions took out half of the Spirits lineup last season.
7. King City: No one got or deserved more swings last year than Grace Shepherd.
8. Christopher: Five starters are back in the fold this fall for Christopher.
9. Seaside: Coming off an undefeated season in the old Pacific Division.
10. Alvarez: Has reached the postseason a school record three straight years.
 On the bubble: North Salinas, Monterey, St. Francis, Pacific Grove, Soledad.
