Nine players from last year’s conference co-championship Monterey Peninsula College football team have earned scholarships for this coming fall.

Among them is receiver Matteo D’Alfonso, will play this fall at the University of San Diego.

Patrick Hungate, a former Carmel High linemen, has signed with Mercyhurst University, while one-time Trinity lineman Dylan Beechum will play next fall at Humboldt State.

Offensive lineman Edwin Cortez is going to the University of Idaho, while offensive lineman Kaleb Webster will play at Georgia State University.

Defensive lineman Khani Rozier and offensive lineman Menelik Lovell are both going to Ottawa University in Arizona, while defensive backs Jon Giles and Paul Williams will play at Missouri Valley College.

Still waiting to make a decision is Monterey High graduate Michael Armstead, who has narrowed his decision down to the University of Hawaii or the University of San Diego
