Matt Smith is making the most of his opportunities for the UC Davis baseball team, hitting .375 in nine games. The right-hander got his first collegiate hit in his first start.
Redshirted last year, Smith also drove in his first run and scored his run. In the outfield, the freshman has been flawless in the field.
The Palma product was a member of The Herald’s All-County team as a junior in 2015.
