Former Santa Catalina slap hitter Marissa Bruno is hitting .280 for the Portland State softball team, having struck out a team low six times in 75 at bats.
Hitting in the No. 8 spot of the order for Portland State, the left-handed Bruno has scored 15 runs and is among the team leaders in steals, having yet to have been caught.
Defensively the right fielder has handled 34-of-36 chances in the field.
Bruno was a four-year starter at Santa Catalina, earning a spot on The Herald’s All-County team three times.
