Joey Russo is continuing his march towards possibly being a national champion for the Grand Canyon University club golf team.
The former Monterey High and Monterey Peninsula College all-leaguer was medalist last week as Grand Canyon qualified for the National Club Championships in St. Louis, Missouri.
Russo will go into the tournament tied for No. 1 overall on the board. Grand Canyon is ranked No. 1 as a club team.
Russo has been the teams No. 1 golfer all season.
