Carmel volleyball

The longest current running league winning streak in the county now belongs to the Padres.
With Wednesday's win over Christopher, Carmel has rattled off 36 straight league wins, surpassing Santa Catalina's streak of 35 in girls volleyball.
The defending two-time Gabilan Division champion Padres are one win away from clinching no worse than a share of their third straight league title and two wins from perfection.
During this magical run, Carmel has swept 30 of its league 35 matches. None have gone a full five sets.
What keeps the run going is the Padres depth and ability to adapt under pressure.
When setter Charlie DeLapa went down with an injury, Robbie Anderson stepped in and Carmel did not skip a beat.
DeLapa and his 400 plus assists are back for what Carmel hopes is an extended postseason run, as Keegan Forrestner has over 200 kills while Cole Dickman and Ben Airola are both over 100.
Dickman has been a disruptive force at the net in getting his hands on balls while Joaquin Buenrostro and Palmer Bajari have been defensive demons in the back row.
