Alvarez-Monterey baseball

 Three straight rallies to win games last week served as confidence builders for the Toreadores, who are looking to return to the playoffs after seeing their run of 28 straight trips end last spring.
 Monterey truly emphases team a different players seem to step up each game. Michael Carnazzo and Michael Mugan have been clutch in critical situations at the plate of late.
 Jack Bailey has given the Toreadores (8-5) an ace on the hill. He is one of just two seniors that start for Monterey, who host Alvarez today.
 The preseason favorites in the Pacific Division, the Eagles have shown signs of breaking out, scoring 25 runs in two games last week.
 Angel Rodriguez has pitch well for Alvarez (6-4), while three-sport standout Michael Ramirez and Fabian Herrera anchor the batting order.
 Monterey is 3-1 in games decided by one run over the Eagles are 1-1.
