Palma-Monterey hoops

Yes, there is still significant meaning to this regular season finale for both teams.
While the Chieftains will not make it four straight Gabilan Division titles, Monterey still holds out hope for a share of the title.
A Toreadores win, coupled with an Alisal loss at home tonight to San Benito, would create a tie for the league title.
Either way, both teams are looking for a little momentum going into the postseason.
Of course, that isn't always an indicator of what will be in store. Monterey fell in its season finale last year to Palma, then went out and won the programs first ever Central Coast Section title.
The Toreadores have won three straight since enduring a two-game losing streak. Palma got a career high 26 points from Sacramento Figueroa last Wednesday to snap a two-game losing streak.
Monterey is one of two teams this year to have gone on the road and defeated Palma.
The Chieftains have three league losses this year by three points or less. Reverse those results and they would be chasing another title.
