Senior libero Lizzy Tardieu has played in every set this year for the nationally ranked University of San Diego volleyball team, which opens the NCAA tournament today, facing LSU.
Tardieu set a career high this past fall in digs for San Diego with a team high 386, averaging 4.01 per set. The 5-foot-5 standouts totals are more than her first three years combined.
She also set career marks in assists (91) and finished fourth on the team with 18 service aces.
The Herald’s Female Athlete of the Year in 2014, Tardieu was a member of The Herald’s All-County volleyball team all four years, and was a four-time all-league champion in track. She also reached the state cross country championships.
