Girls tournament thoughts

King City isn't a bad team. Aptos is just that good.
Coming off a 26 win season, the defending North Salinas Sportsmanship Tournament champions are 4-1 after an 88 point eruption in a 38-point win over the Mustangs.
Aptos will now face 5-0 Seaside tonight at 6:30 p.m. The Spartans are anchored by reigning Pacific Division Most Valuable Player Jordan Olivares.
Yet, it was Daja Mitchell and Khrystiana Lynch that were double-double machines for Seaside, as Mitchell finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds and Lynch 10 points and 13 boards.
Host North Salinas held off much-improved Alvarez by 12 to advance and face Scotts Valley, while Notre Dame will look to rebound after falling to Scotts Valley.
The Vikings have turned to freshman Natalie Morales, who dropped in 18 points Thursday and leads the team in scoring.
The Spirits, who won just eight games last year, are 6-3 through nine games this winter behind Kelly Knion and Angela Leavitt.
