Scotts Valley-Soledad football

Central Coast Section Division V playoffs
Friday's game
No. 6 Scotts Valley (6-4) at No. 3 Soledad (7-3), 7 p.m.
The Aztecs did not get the welcome mat out for Scotts Valley in their first meeting back on Oct. 20,  holding them without a touchdown in a 19-3 win.
Four weeks later, the Falcons are making the trip back to Soledad with a shot at redemption against the Mission Trail Athletic League champions.
Scotts Valley is limping into the postseason, having dropped three of its last four, failing to score a touchdown in two league losses.
The reigning Central Coast Section Division IV champion Aztecs have won four straight and are 7-1 since an 0-2 start, the exact same position they were in last year at this time.
Emmanuel Ortega has gone over 1,000 yards rushing for the third straight year for Soledad, having rushed for 83 yards in the first meeting against Scotts Valley.
Robbie Santa Ana had arguably his best game of the season in that first meeting, completing 11-of-16 for 219 yards and two touchdowns -- with Aaron Rodriguez catching seven of those passes.
Soledad's defense has risen to another level during its four-game winning streak, having allowed just one touchdown while forcing 11 turnovers.
Jaycob Olivas has compiled 108 tackles and two interceptions for the Aztecs while Victor O'Campo has 90 tackles.
While Scotts Valley had no answer to Rodriguez in the teams first game, Angel Olivas has quietly caught 40 passes for over 800 yards this year for Soledad.
