Christopher (7-2) at Monterey (3-6). 7:30 p.m.
Hard to believe 8-2 means you still have to apply to get in as an at-large entry to the playoffs. But the Cougars will finish in third in the Pacific Division, as both losses came in league play.
And Christopher isn't 8-2 yet. A loss to Monterey might keep them out of the postseason. A Cougars aerial attack has seen Ben Sanford toss 22 touchdown passes -- 13 to Jason Scirigione.
The Toreadores, who have eight sophomores starting, are playing for next year. A little momentum to close the 2017 season wouldn't hurt for moral.
Evans Charles has thrown for nearly 1,200 yards and 10 touchdowns for Monterey. Azjani McGill has 401 rushing yards -- with three of his four touchdowns being 70 yards or longer.
Everyone of the Toreadores skilled players will be back next year, accept for senior Nathaniel Gwin, who has quietly caught 25 passes for 348 yards and two touchdowns.
Monterey has not beaten a team with a winning record in three years. In the two teams' last meeting in 2015, the Dores prevailed 35-27 over Christopher.

If Christopher beats Monterey in their final game they will be the top at-large team in D IV/V with 23 points. Christopher might also get in as an at-large even with a loss depending on what Carlmont and Branham do up in San Jose. Both are favored to win. So it is likely this game is a must win for Christopher if they are to ensure play in the post season.
