Carmel-Notre Dame-Belmont volleyball

Central Coast Section Division IV semifinals
Wednesday's match
 No. 6 Carmel (24-9) vs. No. 2 Notre Dame-Belmont (28-14) at Scotts Valley, 7:30 p.m.
This is uncharted waters for Carmel, who has never won two postseason matches in the programs 40 plus year existence.
With just three seniors on the roster, this was suppose to be a transition season for the Padres, who have playoff wins over Terra Nova and SCCAL co-champion Harbor.
Carmel is facing a Tigers squad that has won 11 straight matches - nine by sweeps, finishing second in the West Bay Foothill Division.
Kendall Peters and freshman Abby Miller have combined for nearly 700 kills this fall for the Tigers, who run a two-set attack.
Carmel has relied on a trio of players at the net, starting with Soana Laulotu and her 300 plus kills, while Kassidy Cosmero and Claire Bishop have over 100 kills.
Bishop also orchestrates the offense as part of a two-set attack that includes Emma Crabbe, while four-year libero Madi Lombardi anchors the back row.
