St. Francis-Gonzales football

Friday's game
St. Francis, Watsonville (6-1) at Gonzales (2-6), 7:30 p.m.
Because of poor air quality, coupled with a bye the following week, the Sharks haven't played since Oct. 6, meaning they'll either be well resting or rusty.
Prior to the layoff, St. Francis has had a resurgence in its program, having scored 40 or more points in five of its six wins. Its only loss this year came from a team out of state.
Four players have rushed for over 350 yards this fall for St. Francis, including Devin Mcleod, who has 503 yards and six touchdowns.
The strength of the Sharks, though, has been their defense, which has allowed just 33 points in their six wins, having not allowed a point in the first quarter in their six wins.
Having snapped an eight-game losing streak that dated back to 2016, Gonzales has rattled off two straight wins.
The third quarter has continued to be a thorn in the Spartans side, having been outscored 56-7 this season.
Seth Mays has gone over 100 yards rushing in three games, having racked up a career high 179 yards last week. He also leads the team in tackles.
Raul Morales has thrown for over 1,000 yards, with four different receivers accounting for 998 yards this season.
