Putting the ball into the hands of arguably one of the more athletic players in the county enhanced Seaside's ground game, taking some of the pressure off DeMarcus Hawkins.
The pair were lethal in the opening quarter against Alvarez, as both had touchdown runs of 20 plus yards.
Sayre is fast and confident in his decision making. Give him a small seam and he is elusive in the open field. Hawkins is a punishing runner with deceptive speed.
Together, they're a combination of thunder and lightening running behind that massive offensive line.
Of course, now that Seaside has shown its hand, how will opponents react? Will defenses stack the box? It's tough to make adjustments on the fly against a no-huddle attack.
I wouldn't dare the Spartans to throw. This is still an athletic offense that features receivers Roderick Gaskins and De'Antae Williams, who have combined for over 50 receptions this year.
Seldom do you see a dramatic change like that eight games into the season. But it did work. And the Spartans can still go back to their other scheme.
Seaside has created more options in its game plan, which will force opponents to have to prepare for possibly two different offenses.
