Alisal-Christopher football

Friday's game
Alisal (3-4) at Christopher (6-1), 7:30 p.m.
This is a measuring stick for the Trojans, who have won three of their last four games to put them in the playoff conversation.
Alisal has outscored its last two opponents 78-26. Quarterback Andrew Marquez has accounted for 15 touchdowns this year, compiling nearly 270 passing and rushing yards last week.
Christopher, who was averaging over 40 points a game in opening the season 6-0, was held to six in a 24-6 loss to unbeaten Gilroy. Alisal fell 39-19 to Gilroy three weeks ago.
The Cougars have put the ball in the air over 200 times this year, with Ben Sanford having thrown for nearly 1,200 yards and 16 touchdowns.
Defending the pass had been an Achilles heel for the Trojans, who gave up eight touchdown passes in opening the season with three straight losses -- but just one in their last four games.
While Marquez has been a highlight reel this fall running behind a talented offensive line for Alisal, Israel Corona and Francisco Rosales have become contributors offensively.
The only meeting between the two teams occurred in 2014 with Christopher prevailing 41-2.
