Stevenson-King City football

Friday's game
Stevenson (1-1) at King City (1-2), 7:30 p.m.
I suspect Clay Barbree is going to continue to get a few more carries as King City alters its offense after losing its starting quarterback for the season.
The Mustangs were effective running the ball last week with Barbree chalking up 143 yards and Cedric Perez rushing for 103 yards and a touchdown.
Make no mistake, Barbree is still King City's primary receiver, catching five passes for 154 yards and two touchdowns last week from Luis Luna.
But of the Mustangs 54 plays last week, 38 were running plays. Time of possession gave the defense more rest.
Stevenson bounced back from a season opening loss to shutout Oakland 29-0 last week, with Ben Mudd producing a touchdown for the second straight game.
Last year two failed two-point conversations in the fourth quarter was the difference in a 35-32 loss at King City.
The Mustangs have outscored their last two opponents 26-2 in the first quarter.
