Saturday morning thoughts

Dramatics: Anthony Vasquez's 1-yard touchdown run with 30 seconds left lifts Alisal to a 29-22 win over North Salinas -- its first win over its rivals in four years.
Consecutive points: Dating back to last week, Soledad has scored 65 consecutive points, beating Greenfield 41-0.
One-sided: The oldest rivalry game in Monterey County continues to be a one-sided affair as King City makes it 15 straight over Gonzales after a 33-12 decision.
Shut down: Salinas failed to score a point for the first time since 2010, a stretch of 79 games after a 27-0 loss to Milpitas.
Shot in the arm: Tied at 20 early in the third quarter, Monterey ran off the games final 14 points to produce its first win of the season with a 34-20 win over Marina.
Numbers: Emmanuel Ortega rushes for nearly 300 yards and five touchdowns for Soledad. Evans Charles accounts for four touchdowns for Monterey. Cedric Perez rushes for three touchdowns for King City. Andrew Marquez rushes for three touchdowns for Alisal.
