Saturday's game
Oakland (0-2) at Stevenson (0-1), 2 p.m.
It has been a struggle out the gates for the Wildcats, who have been outscored 83-6 in their first two games this season.
Despite reaching the playoffs in 2013 -- even winning a game -- Oakland has not won more than four games in a season since 2008.
The Pirates have had an extra week to heel the emotional wounds of falling by 50 in their opener two weeks ago to Menlo.
Schedule conflicts have Stevenson playing just eight games this year, meaning this is its final tuneup before opening league.
Little went well for the Pirates in their opener, other than they came back in one piece, determined to right the ship. Stevenson has not dropped its first two games of the season since 2011.
