North County-Watsonville football

Friday's game
North County (1-3) at Watsonville (3-1), 7:30 p.m.
The last time the Wildcatz started the year 3-1, they won a share of the Monterey Bay League title in 2009. It's also the last time they've had a winning season.
The quick start by Watsonville shouldn't come as a surprise. Last year it was involved in four games decided by a touchdown or less, losing three games by a total of five points.
Evan Delozier and Matthew Barceló have combined for eight rushing touchdowns for Watsonville this fall, with three of their touchdown runs being 45 yards or longer.
Both teams were shutout last week with Watsonville falling from the unbeaten ranks in a 14-0 loss to 3-1 Irvington, while the Condors were blanked 40-0 by Carmel.
For North County, it's the second time this year it has been held without a point. In its three setbacks, it has mustered one touchdown in 12 quarters.
Watsonville has not allowed more than 18 points in one game. Defense has to set the tone for North County. It created four turnovers in the teams only win this year.
Prior to last year's 35-14 Watsonville win, the Condors had won five of the previous six meetings. This will be North County's 16th straight road game.
