Michael Carrizosa

Former Palma punter Michael Carrizosa was named the San Jose State Athlete of the Month for August.

The senior averaged 44.5 yards on 11 punts in August, putting four inside the 20-yard line. His performance has Carrizosa ranked No. 2 in the nation.
The Spartans career leader in punting average at 43.3 yards a kick, Carrizosa averaged a school record 47.5 yards his sophomore year.
 He’s been ranked in the top 20 nationally the last two years. He’s also kicking off for San Jose State this year.
