Saturday's game
Gavilan (0-4) vs. Hartnell (2-1) at Rabobank, 6 p.m.
The Panthers have played three games decided by a total of 10 points, using an interception in the end zone from Davon Ferguson last week to secure a 21-20 win at Reedley.
Their one setback this fall was a 7-3 decision to Foothill, who after five straight losing seasons, is off to a 4-0 start this year.
Devon Daich continues to mature into his role behind center for the Panthers, having thrown for 710 yards and five touchdowns.
Sophomore J'uan Campbell has become Daich's primary target with 17 catches for 308 yards and two touchdowns.
Seaside grad Keishawn Robinson has provided some balance on offense with 162 rushing yards and a touchdown, and has four catches for 51 yards and a score out of the backfield.
Defense, though, has been the backbone of the Panthers. Chauncey Jackson has a team leading 28 tackles while Palma product Angel Maldonado has 17 tackles and three sacks.
Of Matt Wright's 12 tackles this fall, five have been sacks while four of Brian Grace's eight tackles have been sacks.
Alexis Ramos and King City grad Christian Olmos have combined for 30 tackles and two clutch fumble recoveries -- with Olmos adding an interception to his resume.
Prior to giving up 51 points last week to MPC, the Rams had allowed just 41 points in three losses, all within seven points or less.
Quarterback Erik Ornduff has thrown for over 800 yards, with one-time Christopher standout P.J. Riechert having caught 29 passes in four games.
