Returning 24 players from last year's roster, the Vikings are coming off a 5-5 season, in which they beat Harbor 41-0, but fell 49-0 to Stevenson.
A member of the El Camino Football Division, Lynbrook was 3-0 last year when scoring 40 or more points, 0-3 when it allowed 40 or more points.
Forced to drop its junior varsity program last week because of a lack of numbers, Marina has already been hit with a handful of injuries before its first game.
Coming off a 1-9 season, the Mariners are stable behind center going into their season opener with the return of quarterback Will Leander, whose body guard will be 310 pound younger brother Kefu.
Marina's defense was tagged for a county high 476 points last fall. The team was outscored 135-7 in the first quarter in its nine losses.
Six of the Mariners eight wins in the programs eight year history have come at Monterey Peninsula College.
