Softball rankings

1. San Benito: Reigning CCS DI champions are 17-1 since starting the season 2-3.
2. Notre Dame: The second half redemption tour continues for the Spirits.
3. Watsonville: Only setbacks on the season are to the teams ranked ahead of them.
4. Carmel: Dating back to last spring, the Padres have won 19 of their last 20 MTAL games.
5. Salinas: Has seized control of the Pacific Division, holding a two-game lead.
6. Christopher: Snapped a three-game skid with two consecutive wins.
7. Santa Catalina: On a collision course to meet Carmel for a  share of the MTAL title.
8. Gilroy: Has been outscored 43-3 in its last two Gabilan Division games.
9. Pacific Grove: Battling for that third spot and play-in game in the MTAL.
10. Monterey: Needs to win two of its final three to petition for the playoffs.
