Pacific Grove baseball

This was suppose to be a season of transition.
Based on their non-league record, the Breakers looked like a program in a rebuilding mood at 0-5.
 That's why there's a preseason and a league season.
At 8-0, the Breakers are the only undefeated team left in the Mission Trail Athletic League.
 A fluke?
Not when you've outscored league opponents 96-9.
Granted the league schedule has been kind to Pacific Grove, as the meat of its schedule awaits.
 But that's not their fault.
With just one senior on a roster filled with seven sophomores and two freshmen, this is a cast of unknowns putting together a potentially special season.
Sophomore Trevor Heyn has given Pacific Grove a shot in the arm on the mound, and is among the team leaders in multiple hit games.
Jack Sendell, another sophomore, has driven in a team high 15 runs for the Breakers while half of Hunter Hanes' hits have gone for extra bases.
While games with Soledad, Greenfield and defending champion Carmel -- a combined  19-5 in the MTAL  -- await, what winning does is it creates confidence.
