Notre Dame-Gilroy softball

Since their blistering 12-0 start to the season, which included wins over CCS powers Mitty and St. Francis, the Spirits are just 2-3.
 Gilroy hopes it has turned a corner after an 0-3 Gabilan Division start with two straight wins to put itself back into playoff contention.
 One of the Mustangs losses was an 8-1 decision to Notre Dame in both teams league opener. In their last two games, Gilroy has outscored its two opponents 10-1.
 Two of Notre Dame's losses have come from San Benito and Watsonville, who are a combined 25-4 this spring. Two of its three losses have uncharacteristically come at home.
 There are signs that the Spirits bats are close to heating up. Kaeli Bush is coming off a four-hit effort against San Benito while Aly Gomonet and Lauren Pullara have put together multiple hit games.
