MTAL baseball

The decision two years ago to put Anzar, Trinity and Marina into the Mission Trail Athletic League has not worked out.
The three former Coastal Athletic League programs are a combined 1-26 this year, with the one win coming from Anzar against Marina. Last year they were 7-41 in the MTAL
Granted, there was little choice for the programs, after the rest of the CAL could not field baseball programs.
But consistently seeing games end in the fifth inning because of the 12-run rule is not creating the atmosphere you need to help build a program.
Marina has managed just 10 runs this season while Trinity has given up 131 in 10 games. With the MTAL expected to merge with the MBL in 2018, that should help.
Ideally, you'd like to see the three teams merge with Pajaro Valley -- who hasn't won a league game in seven years -- and at least two other programs for a competitive division.
The last thing you want to see is any of these programs getting dropped.
