As her offensive numbers begin to climb, Annie Aldrete has been a rock behind the plate for the Cal softball team, having handled 93 chances without an error this spring.
The former Santa Catalina home run king has seen her average climb to .240 for the 23-13 Bears, as she shares the team lead in homers with two and is second in runs batted in with 17.
The NFCA Division I Co-Freshman of the Year in 2014, Aldrete was a second team All-American at Tennessee before transferring to Cal after her sophomore year. Last year she was named to the USA Softball Elite team.
