Menlo-Palma boys hoops

No. 9 Menlo (20-7) at No. 1 Palma (23-4), 6 p.m.
 Do not discount the Central Coast Section Division IV champion Knights, who have already ended the seasons of Carmel and Pacific Grove.
 In addition, Menlo beat Half Moon Bay 42-40 in the section title game. One of Palma's two regular season losses was a 55-53 loss to Half Moon Bay.
 Champions of the West Bay Division, the Knights come into the game having won seven straight, knocking off  No. 8 seed University 63-35 on Wednesday.
 In fact, Menlo has not allowed an opponent over 40 points it its last five games. Palma erupted for 77 in a 43-point win over West Valley.
 The reigning Northern California Division IV champion Chieftains have won 23 consecutive home games -- the last 15 by 12 or more points.
 Two-time Gabilan Division Most Valuable Player Jamaree Bouyea took a back seat in the Nor Cal opener, as Cameron Jones and Nikhil Manimaram both dropped in 18 points.
 Menlo 6-3 guard Joe Foley has had a big postseason, averaging nearly 17 points a game this year while 6-6 junior Riley Woodson is averaging nearly 14 points a contest..
