Injuries derail county sprinters

With Santa Catalina sprinter Mikayla Revera likely out until late April with a left hamstring injury, the county's sprint core has been somewhat depleted by injuries.
Reigning Central Coast Section 400 meter champion Zack Miller of Pacific Grove was lost for the year after suffering a hematoma in his left thigh in the CCS basketball playoffs.
What was first thought to be a four-week healing process was extended to 12 weeks, ending hopes of Miller defending his section title.
Miller, who was also among the top returning sprinters in the 200 and long jump in the CCS, will be back on the track in 2018 at Harvard University.
Revera currently has the top marks in the section in the 100 and 200. But the senior has been to the state meet the last two years in the 400.
That's likely out of the question as she is expected to miss at least four weeks of training. Revera has a track scholarship to Sacramento State.
