Tuesday's game
Central Coast Section Division IV semifinals
No. 3 Menlo (18-7) vs. No. 2 Pacific Grove (21-4) at Hartnell College, 5:30 p.m.
The last time these two teams faced off on the hardwood was in the 2007 Division IV semifinals, in which Menlo prevailed 60-47.
The defending CCS Division IV champion Breakers come into the battle having won nine straight games while the West Bay League champions are 10-2 in their last 12 games.
Junior guard Joe Foley is one of three players averaging over 12 points a game for the Knights at 17.1, while 6-foot-6 junior Riley Woodson is dropping in 13 points.
Pacific Grove held on for a two-point win over The King's Academy in the quarterfinals, a team Menlo beat by six and 10 points in league play.
Brad Sendell has carried the offense on his shoulders most of the season for the Breakers and teams are clearly aware of that, as evident by the amount of double teaming he's faced.
While creating shots for Sendell with screens has worked, so has production on the perimeter from Jalen Killian and Gaurav Gurung, who combined for five 3-point goals last Saturday.
Pacific Grove has got to find more offense inside with the combination of 6-5 Zack Miller and Ian Sinclair-Fox.
