Injuries have crippled what was once a promising outlook for the Otters.
Stuck in a nine-game losing streak, the Otters were down to six players two weeks ago. That number has improved slightly to seven for the final five games of the season -- including tonight when they host San Francisco State.
Those that are able to lase up the high tops are putting up battles. During their nine-game skid, the Otters have lost two games by four points and another by two.
Still, this team is a shell of what head coach Rob Bishop envisioned when practice began in October.
A bright spot has been former Seaside standout Jonquis Bouyea, who is averaging nearly six points a game, while cancer survivor Joe Covarrubias is rediscovering his shot from beyond the arc.
Those that are on the court are gaining valuable experience for next season, adding depth to what could be a dynamic team with four potential starters returning from injuries.
