Salinas-Palma hoops

It's still the one game of the season that fills a gym to capacity.
Lately, however, the rivalry has been one-sided as the reigning two-time Gabilan Division champion Chieftains have won 10 straight over Salinas.
Then again Palma will go into this battle having rattled off 29 straight league wins.
 So Salinas isn't alone.
Plus the Cowboys haven't gone down easily, falling by two in a game last season to Palma and by three in 2014.
Salinas has some momentum, coming off arguably its biggest win of the season in going on the road and beating North County.
Three of Salinas' six overall losses this year have been by a total of five points, losing two one-point battles during non-league play.
Daniel Bost is heating up for Salinas, coming off a 24 point eruption, while Tim Harper nearly had a double-double in the win over North County with 15 points and nine rebounds.
Reigning Gabilan Division Most Valuable Player Jamaree Bouyea has been hot all season for Palma, averaging nearly 18 points a game.
Bouyea isn't alone as Nikhil Manimaram has provided clutch points while Garrett Maker continues to work his way back from a torn ACL, suffered last February.
Since suffering back-to-back losses during the holidays, the Chieftains have won three consecutive games, holding San Benito to 19 points in their Gabilan Division opener.
