Projected boys basketball finishes

Gabilan Division
1. Palma: Jamaree Bouyea is a difference maker for the reigning state finalists.
2. Monterey: Can all that athleticism mold as one this season?
3. Monte Vista: Lucas Schmidt and his 6-foot-10 frame is back.
4. North County: Jeremy Heitzman is a double-double machine
5. Salinas: Deep at the guard position, but a lot of question marks coming into the year.
6. Christopher: Does have some returning size, along with playoff experience.
7. San Benito: Nowhere to go but up for the Balers this winter.

Pacific Division
1. Alisal: This will be the Trojans last stand in the Pacific Division.
2. Alvarez: Top three returning scorers are back in the fold.
3. Seaside: Went with youth last year. Most of it is back.
4. North Salinas: Might be the most disciplined team in the league.
5. Gilroy: While its top scorers graduated, four sophomores are back.
6. Pajaro Valley: Its top five scorers from last year have returned.
7. Watsonville: Senior heavy team last year in rebuilding mood.

Mission Trail Athletic League
1. Pacific Grove: Two-time league MVP Brad Sendell does more than score.
2. Stevenson: New coach, new energy, new direction in Pebble Beach.
3. Carmel: Retooling from the ground after being depleted by graduation.
4. Soledad: Keep an eye on the Aztecs as a sleeper team this year.
5. Greenfield: Had the biggest turnaround from the previous season of any team.
6. King City: A lot of holes to fill after being a senior heavy team last year
7. Marina: Perhaps snapping a 20-game losing streak will carry over into this year.
8. Gonzales: That youth brought up last year is back with experience.
