 The Eagles should be looked at as a title contender in the Pacific after finishing the preseason with four straight wins, capturing the Steinbach Classic.
 You can also make the argument that Alvarez was the most improved team, avenging a 26-point loss to Salinas with a one-point win 14 days later.
 Returning all-leaguer Blake Kunkle has rediscovered his stroke in the paint, providing a compliment to the outside marksmanship of Marc Flores and Michael Ramirez.
 Seaside will go into Pacific Division play still searching for an identity. There have been flashes of  its potential behind Matthew Briscoe.
 But support behind Briscoe has not been consistent. The Spartans did close the preseason, winning two of their final three games. And two of their losses were to teams a combined 18-1.
