The former Central Coast Section singles tennis champion was recently named to the Ivy League All-Academic team for the University of Penn.
Pompan, who prepped at York School, was one of only two male tennis players to be honored for his academic and athletic achievements.
The junior is ranked No. 99 in the nation in Division I tennis -- one of only three Ivy League players ranked in the top 100.
Pompan will be the team captain this spring for Penn. Last year he was 15-4 overall. He will likely open the spring as the teams No. 2 singles player.
