Carmel-Stevenson boys hoops

It will be a reunion of sorts for Carmel post Kevin Cook when he faces his former teammates tonight at Stevenson.
The 6-foot-5 Cook spent his first two seasons playing for the Pirates before transferring to Carmel over the summer.
Last winter Cook averaged nearly 12 points and 10 rebounds a game as a sophomore for Stevenson. In his first season at Carmel, he's averaging 10 points and eight rebounds a game.
Equally important is the magnitude of this early season match up. Both teams are undefeated in the Mission Trail Athletic League with an eye on reigning champion Pacific Grove.
While Cook has had a presence in the paint, Matt Luch leads the team in scoring while sophomore Joe Garello has evolved as a threat on the perimeter for Carmel.
The Pirates are a veteran club, anchored by senior Parker Olin, who helped take the team to the Nor Cal Division V playoffs as a sophomore in 2015.
Will Lansbury and Ben Stork have been cornerstones in the lineup along with junior Winston Elstob, who earned all-tournament honors at the Scattini Tournament back in December.
The two teams have split their head-to-head matchups in four of the last five seasons.
