Soledad-Notre Dame girls soccer

Coming off the programs first Mission Trail Athletic League title, the Aztecs are no longer sneaking up on opponents this year, as evident by the 1-2-1 non-league start.
Then again, Soledad wasn't afraid to beef up its schedule this winter with non-league games against Gabilan Division champion Salinas and Pacific Division champion Notre Dame tonight.
The Spirits, who have moved to the Gabilan Division this year, shot out the gates at 3-1 behind the efforts of Elena Shaheen and her five goals.
Soledad will counter with the schools career record holder for goals in Belinda Ascencio, who scored a school record 31 goals last year and has 67 career goals and counting.
Ascencio produced four goals in one game earlier this season for the Aztecs while goalie Xitclalli Ramirez has 30 saves.
Five different players have produced goals for Notre Dame, including Allison Gomez, who has three goals and a pair of assists.
