The annual basketball tournament at Palma will have a different look this winter as the event will run from Wednesday through Friday.
In addition, there will be more of a local flavor as seven of the eight teams taking part are from the tri-region area, including Salinas making a rare appearance in the Scattini Tournament.
Alvarez, Alisal, Stevenson, San Benito, Soquel and host Palma will be joined by Pittsburg of the east bay.
Pittsburgh is 3-1, falling last year in the North Coast Section semifinals to De La Salle.
Last winter the Chieftains won the tournament en route to reaching the State DIV finals. Palma is 3-0 on the season while Alvarez is 4-1 and Alisal 4-2.
