Palma football

When you create four turnovers, you have to capitalize. And the Chieftains did on their first two series', scoring touchdowns and jumping out to a 14-3 lead.
Campolindo was in the red zone on its first two series' and managed just three points. Its next two possessions also reached the red zone with different results.
Still what crippled the Chieftains in the second half was Campolindo producing a defensive score and then going on a five plus minute drive in the fourth quarter after its lead was cut to two.
Erase Emilio Martinez's 87 yard touchdown run to open the game and Campolindo did a respectable job in shutting down the 2,400 plus yard running back.
It's tough to be effective throwing the ball late in the game when you're seldom put into that position, until the last two weeks of the season.
Palma was looking for long methodical drives to chew up the clock. Instead, it was the Cougars who put together the one long drive that ultimately decided the outcome.
