Breaker Basketball Classic

While county powers Palma and Pacific Grove won't play each other, both should get tested over the next two days, facing Colfax and Hilmar in the Breaker Classic
Colfax is off to a 5-0 start while a much-improved Hilmar squad is 3-1. Colfax has three wins by five points or less.
Last year the Chieftains reached the CIF State Division IV finals for the first time in 24 years while Pacific Grove won the CCS Division IV title.
Reigning Gabilan Division MVP Jamaree Bouyea opened his season with a modest 17-point effort in Palma's win over defending CCS Division I champion Piedmont Hills.
Two-time Mission Trail Athletic League MVP Brad Sendell is averaging 17.5 points a game for the Breakers in two lopsided wins.
Harvard bound track standout Zack Miller is averaging nearly a double-double for Pacific Grove while Ian Sinclair-Fox has provided another option at 11 points a game.
The Chieftains committee of scorers will include Nikhil Manimaram, who had 14 in the opener, and  6-5 junior Garrett Maker, a starter since his freshmen year.
Coming off a torn ACL, Maker will get stronger as the season progresses while Cameron Jones will be a presence at some point in the paint.
