MPC women's hoops

When eight of your 10 players are freshmen, growing pains are a part of the process.
Changing the course of the season will come with time as the Lobos develop cohesiveness on the floor.
While MPC (0-5) searches for its first win this weekend in the Cuesta Tournament, there have been flashes of what this group can do offensively as conference play draws closer.
Former North Salinas standout Alissa Foster is dropping in 9.2 points a game while one-time Seaside product Marielle Tuazon is averaging 8.8 points.
King City alum Aly Carroll, a late arrival from volleyball, has been productive in the paint for the Lobos, averaging 8.7 points and 7.8 rebounds.
Yet, the glue to this unit is sophomore guard Marissa Hernandez, who is averaging a career high 15.8 points a game.
Defensively, the Lobos have to get better. In four of their losses, they've given up 76 or more points, including 96 in a setback to 6-1 City College of San Francisco.
It might noted that the five teams MPC has fallen to are a combined 19-7.
